Do you authenticate the artwork?

Each original artwork and limited-edition print by Josef Kote includes a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) issued and signed by the artist, along with a detailed description. Records for every artwork and print are securely maintained at the JK Studio Art Headquarters. This rigorous process helps ensure the provenance and enduring integrity of your Josef Kote artwork.

Where to Obtain a Missing Certificate of Authenticity (COA)

Josef Kote’s original artworks and limited-edition prints created during his lifetime were acquired exclusively through galleries representing him. If you do not have a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), please contact the gallery where you obtained the piece to request one. Our studio will reissue certificates only upon formal request from the gallery and after verifying all required credentials.

What Is a Limited-Edition Giclée Print?

Giclée prints are high-end, museum-quality fine art reproductions of existing artworks. All our canvas prints are archival and produced to the highest standards to represent the original artwork accurately. Each print in an edition is handcrafted and possesses unique qualities that may vary slightly from one print to another. Every piece is carefully produced to ensure exceptional quality and exclusivity.

Why are some prints similar in size but different in price?

Several factors affect the price: size, subject, and technicality. Each print and canvas is carefully and thoughtfully priced.

What Are Artist Proof Prints?

For each standard image release, only three to eight numbered and signed Artist Proofs are made available. These proofs are regarded as personal to the artist and are highly valued by collectors.

Are the prints signed?

Each print is signed and numbered, confirming its limited-edition status and authenticating the edition.

Are the prints hand-enhanced?

Each print is painted by Kote, making every piece a unique work of art.

Will these prints be released again?

No. Each edition is produced in limited quantities and will not be reproduced.

Has Josef Kote released Open-Edition Prints?

Please note that Josef Kote and JK Studio did not issue or produce any open-edition prints during his lifetime. Open-edition prints are not subject to a production limit, underscoring the exclusive and limited nature of Josef Kote's artworks. If you encounter an open-edition print offered for sale, please be aware that it is counterfeit and has not been officially authorized by the artist.
